ABOUT US
Picture
Post 289 received our temporary charter as American Legion Fort Campbell Post 289 in February 2016.  Meetings were held at the Smokehaus Restaurant on Sportsman's Lane in Fort Campbell.

Since 2017, when the post was permanently chartered and renamed to memorialize CSM Gary W. Crisp, post meetings have been at Daymar College, 2691 Trenton Road, Clarksville, TN.

American Legion CSM Gary W. Crisp Post 289 strives to support area veterans and communities by supporting the 4 pillars of Veterans Assistance and Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children and Youth.   Our success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.

The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvement in the legislation process from local districts to Capitol Hill. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation's veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership.

American Legion members are veterans helping veterans.   Your service to this nation and to fellow veterans need not end when you are discharged from military service.   Visit one of our meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Daymar College or click on the below graphic for more information on the American Legion.
